Cookie policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
The short version
www.notlinear.ai uses one thing that needs your permission: Google Analytics, so we can see how many people visit and which pages are useful. Nothing is stored on your device until you press Accept in the banner. Press Decline and no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google — the site works exactly the same.
You can change your mind whenever you like: reopen the cookie choice.
What a cookie is
A small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise the same browser on a later visit. The same rules apply to comparable technologies such as local storage.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary — no consent needed
| nl-cookie-consent | Local storage entry, set by this website. Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so we don't ask again on every page. Kept for 12 months, then we ask once more. Contains only your choice and its date — nothing that identifies you. |
This one is set whichever button you press, including Decline. It exists solely to honour your choice, which is why the law does not require consent for it.
Analytics — only after you accept
| _ga | Set by Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. Expires after 2 years. |
| _ga_<container-id> | Set by Google Analytics 4. Keeps the state of the current visit (session). Expires after 2 years. |
These are only set once you press Accept. Until then the Google Analytics script is not even downloaded by your browser.
What we do with the analytics
We look at aggregate numbers: how many visitors, which pages they read, how they arrived (a search engine, LinkedIn, our newsletter), roughly which country and which type of device, and which buttons get clicked — booking a call, opening a course, signing up for a workshop or the newsletter. It tells us which parts of the site are worth improving.
We do not use it to build profiles of individuals, we do not run advertising, and advertising signals are switched off at the source: Google Consent Mode is set to deny ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization permanently, whatever you choose. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited, acting as our data processor. Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google's standard contractual clauses. Retention is set to the shortest option Google offers. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
How to withdraw or change your consent
- Reopen the cookie choice on this site and pick the other option. Switching from Accept to Decline also deletes the Google Analytics cookies already in your browser.
- Delete cookies for this site in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this under Privacy).
- Install Google's official opt-out browser add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every website.
Declining costs you nothing: no feature of this website depends on analytics.
Third-party services you click through to
When you follow a link to an external platform — Substack (newsletter), Cal.com (bookings), Maven (courses), LinkedIn or YouTube — those sites set their own cookies once you are on them, under their own policies. Nothing is embedded in our pages, so none of their cookies are set through this website; our fonts and images are served from our own domain.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change cookies we will update this page first and, where consent is required, ask you again before anything new is set. The date at the top of the page shows the current version.
